Ethical Gift Guide, 2017 Edition
Please note that this post contains an item that was gifted to me by JORD Watches
As I said last year, finding presents with an ethical angle has, thankfully, never been easier. If you are after some gift ideas that tick the ethical box while as well as offering gorgeous design, today's post is most definitely for you! Let's do this...
It's been a year since I purchased my blanket scarf from Tolly McRae and the love affair is far from over... It's gorgeously warm and snuggly, and would work draped on a bed or sofa as well as snuggled up round your neck. A lovely gift or cheeky addition to your own wishlist.
Folks seem to love my wooden watch by Jord; it draws in compliments like nobody's business! The Frankie style has a lovely large face with a minimal feel that I really love. I am obsessed. Where possible they use wood from fallen trees or furniture remnants, while they treat all their designs with natural substances rather than hazardous chemicals... I love.
I've made no secret about my love for Lines & Current, and this beauty might well be my favourite from their gorgeously minimal selection. I really appreciate that this style is available in 5 ring sizes; it's the little things, eh?
This was a birthday gift that I've thoroughly enjoyed poring over... The ideal read given the weather at the mo, Hygge is a gorgeous introduction to the Danish way of living that has become so fashionable of late. It's really visual, perfect for any Insta-lover.
I first saw this beauty on the lovely Siobhan's Instagram, and really enjoy the idea behind it... It's a 365 day diary that can be started at any time of the year, wherein you write three things each day for which you feel grateful. It's also interspersed with lovely photography, quotes and even a few essays on the subject of gratitude... I think this would make such a thoughtful gift.
The latest offering from my favourite food writer, A Modern Cook's Year is a seasonal guide to vegetarian cooking. Each season is given its own chapter, which I really enjoy. I recently made the Smoky Chowder from Autumn and it was so tasty. I can't wait to try more!
I've yet to pick this up but my bro's girlfriend put it on my radar: a lovely body spray that is said to be seriously good at aiding sleep. When I'm properly stressed my sleep is always affected, so this sounds right up my alley; apparently it has a real cult following behind it!
My favourite fragrance. Another cult product, Molecule 01 is renowned for its unique, fresh scent that always seems to draw compliments; it smells uniquely different on everyone and is great for those who usually don't like scent. Made with just one fragrance molecule, its simple formula means the wearer will quickly become used to its scent, while passersby are bound to comment on its distinctive aroma.
I love my Berlin map. It's a great visual reminder of one of my fave cities, and looks super stylish. If I remember rightly, my shot of it has become my most popular photo on Instagram; happy days!
I'm very into my scented candles and this Pur Relax Candle is a blend of lavender and orange, perfect for lovers of soy candles such as myself. Cleaner & greener than their paraffin counterparts, these beauties are made with essential oils and no nasties. I also have my beady eye on Pur's double-wicked offerings... Yes please.
Another beauty I've got in my sights is some delish coffee from Yellow Bourbon, based in my hometown of Northampton. I was a coffee-phobe until a client introduced me to their range and now I'm in love. I'm hoping someone will treat me to one of their Chemexes for Christmas too!
And there you have it! What ethical goodies will you be treating your loved ones to this Christmas? Come to the comments and let me know!
